AWANA Starts September 14th

We will be starting up our AWANA club for boys and girls, from ages 3 through 6th grade on September 14th, 2016. The club starts at 6:00pm and ends at 7:30pm. The time for the various age groups is divided into three chunks for 1) Scripture memory and recitation, 2) Bible story and application, and 3) game time.

The name “Awana” stands for “approved workmen are not ashamed.” It is taken from the Bible verse 2 Timothy 2:15 which says, “Study to show yourself approved unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” This verse captures one of the main goals of Awana, which is to immerse boys and girls in God’s Word, bringing them to Jesus Christ and discipling them to a full Christian walk.

Vacation Bible School

Vacation Bible School will be happening at the Okanogan Presbyterian Church from June 27th through July 1st, 9am to 12pm.  There will be 6 age groups for 4 year-old/kindergartners, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th/6th graders.

This year’s program is called “Ocean Commotion,” and your kids will dive deep into the account of Noah and the Flood from the book of Genesis! Along the way, they’ll uncover earthly lessons from the Flood: how all the animals fit on the Ark, how the Flood covered the whole Earth, and how we can still see the effects of this Flood today. They’ll also learn that the flood legends from around the world are based on the true account in Genesis!  They’ll learn to apply the spiritual lessons from Noah’s life to their own.

Trek Youth Summer Schedule

The Trek program for middle school and junior high students is transitioning to a flexible and more hands-on approach for the summer.  Bible reading will be co-ed and will start at 5:30 and go to 6:30.  At 6:30 we will begin regular whole group with a message. If you would like to continue to complete your TREK book, staff will be available to sign you off and keep you on track. You are welcome to come to both of those activities or just one of them.  Take a look at the schedule on the calendar webpage and plan accordingly…you don’t want to miss out.  Invite friends and bring a smile!
